The Calder and Hebble Navigation

The Calder and Hebble Navigation has its roots in the mists of time, though its route passes a rapidly changing part of the West Riding.

The wooded Calder Valley alternates between river and canal sections, the locks being worked by an unusual handspike as well as the normal windlass.
